Today's Album/ El Album del Día: Don't Look Away by Kate Voegele

Kate Elizabeth Voegele (born December 8, 1986) is a singer-songwriter, musician, and actress from the Cleveland suburb of Bay Village, Ohio. She is currently signed to Interscope Records.

Voegele began gaining interest from record labels and management companies after recording a series of demos. The first demo "The Other Side" (released in 2003) was produced by multi-platinum, award winning producer Michael Seifert. Her second demo "Louder Than Words" (released in 2004) was produced by Marshall Altman. Kate signed a record deal with MySpace Records in 2006 and released her debut album Don't Look Away (produced by Marshall Altman) in May of 2007. The album has since sold over 225,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

She is releasing her second studio-album, A Fine Mess, in May, 2009 which is being produced by Mike Elizondo.

I came across Kate while watching One Tree Hill, where she played Mia Catalano, a young singer and keyboardist for a rock band fronted by Jason (Kevin Federline).
Mia performed songs on the series from Voegele's real-life debut album Don't Look Away including "Kindly Unspoken" in her very first episode. Here is where I fell in love with her singing. I may not be a music critique, but I think a lot of people would agree with me when I say that Kate holds one of the most beautiful voices of today. Her blues-ish voice stands out in a world nearly ruled by teen pop singers. Definitely one to keep track of.

Dandelion Wine, one of my my favourite books

"The title refers to a wine made with dandelion petals and other ingredients, commonly citrus fruit. In the story, dandelion wine, as made by the protagonist's grandfather, serves as a metaphor for packing all of the joys of summer into a single bottle.

The main character of the story is Douglas Spaulding, a 12-year-old boy loosely patterned after Bradbury. Most of the book is focused upon the routines of small-town America, and the simple joys of yesteryear."

Join Douglas in his search for the real meaning of life. Travel through time alongside Coronel Freeleigh, learn what love's all about with Helen and Bill, and maybe find out what dying is, as opposed to what we think it was.
Great book filled with metaphores about the discovery of life and death, about happiness and love. Its wonderful and sweet characters will have you hooked from the start!

This book makes me feel: ;) GREAT!

Mansory Veyron LINEA Vincerò is the most exotic and craziest car in the world.

Seems like Bugatti chose not the best time to present a car that costs so much, they do not even say how many millions it would cost. We offer the Mansory Veyron LINEA Vincerò here for your entertainment, showing you just how grand the finest car in the world is capable of being. Never mind that Bugatti is only planning to build three of these beasts.

The shining polished aluminum with heaping helpings of carbon fiber jacks up the price perceptibly, as well as its specially tuned quad-turbo W16, 8.0-liter engine that cranks out well over a thousand horses (well, 1,109 to be exact). Heck, the stock Veyron's price is over a million dollars, so you can only imagine how much some trio of oil-rich sheiks will pay for this babe.

Let's just admire the LINEA Vincerò in the gallery below, knowing that for the price of three of them, GM could be saved from bankruptcy. And, to be more hopeful, we can hope that such exquisite tech will someday trickle down to the rest of us groundlings.
