H and E

So, I got my inspiration from the poem called Harvey the Bunny, by Mr. Austin Nichols and from Astrid's "The True Love-Tale of Girlfriend and Boyfriend – Street Team Style". So I guess you could say this is my version of Harvey the Bunny- Street Team Style.

This short tale has nothing (or perhaps, something, idk) to do with the film "Harvey". I've never seen it, but I do want to. It's just inspired by what I said before.

Read it, and if you're leaving a comment, please be gentle! Hope you'll like it, I've put a lot of effort into it!

H and E

This is the tale of E and his friend H.

The most excentric pair you have ever seen.

H was a good friend to E,

Their friendship went way back.

H was there when E was in pain,

He was there when E was unjustly blamed.

He tried to explain,

Tell people that E hadn’t punched J.

But no one could hear him, H later learned,

That only E could.

H was fine with this at first, for E was a man of strong character, just a little misunderstood.

E was delighted to find a friend in H, when it looked like everyone else was a thousand miles away.

When E first met H, he was being kicked out of a bar, and H just happened to be passing by.

No one noticed H, no one saw him cry.

No one but E.

He walked over to H and asked him what was wrong.

H just stood there, not quite believing his eye: the first person in the world to talk to him, and he wondered why.

Why now, why he of all people could see and hear and talk to him.

Nevermind.

That same night, E and H became good friends.

E could finally talk to someone, H was finally being seen.

But the problem came when E told people about his new friend, and when they would ask him about the latter.

“H is a bunny,” E would say,

“He’s tall and furry, and he’s here to stay!”

“Does he speak to you?”

“But of course he does!

We speak of the future, the present and the past!

He’s a great listener too.

And his words are always true.”

Right then, they would laugh,

shouting and telling him he was nuts.

“No bunny’s as tall as you say!

Neither speaks, nor listens, nor is here to stay!”

“Don’t listen to them,” H comforted E.

“They don’t know what they’re saying.

Just ignore them like they did with me,

And it’ll be fine, you’ll see.”

E did as H said, ignoring the close-minded.

But then, later that night, H discovered something that he couldn’t keep to himself.

H told E what was coming, and told him to share what he knew.

E didn’t want to, scared of being called a fool.

What was E going to do?

What was he going to say?

Would people believe him,

Or tell him to go away?

“They have to know that the world as they know it is coming to and end.”

E looked up at H, and said,

“They’ll never believe me,

They’ll call me a drunk, so what’s the point?”

“The point is E, that you must do what’s right.

We must flee tonight.”

So after thinking about it, E decided that what H said was true.

He knew what he had to do.

He would go to the bar, and tell everyone to leave

If they still wanted to stay alive.

And that’s what he did.

He told everyone to run.

He asked all of them to go home.

“What are you talking about, you crazy old man?

Nothing of what you speak is gonna happen tonight.

I can tell you that.”

“How do you know all of this?” asked the lady with the baby in her arms. “Who told you we’d have such a dreadful night?”

“My friend did,

And go mad at me he might,

If you don’t follow me, and leave this site!”

That seemed to do it,

No one heard E anymore,

No one cared about what he had so kindly asked.

“Let’s go E,

Let them stay here if that’s their choice.” H said, making a funny noise.

The kind of noise he made when something bad was coming.

No one was left alive that dark night.

Not even the lady with her beautiful baby.

“We tried to warn them, but they just wouldn’t listen.” H told E, when he found him on his knees, crying.

“People shouldn’t be so prejudicial.

Next time the bunny tells you to run for it, do it.

He knows what he’s talking about.”

xo,
