We have our Peeta and Gale for The Hunger Games films. Beware: HORRIBLE CASTING AHEAD.

{via Heart Shaped Box and Mientras Lees}

Today we learned that Josh Hutcherson (Bridge to Terabithia, Zathura) and Liam Hemsworth (who the heck is he?) were cast to play Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorn, respectively.

Are you kidding me? Josh Hutcherson as Peeta? The Peeta I -and I imagine many others- have been waiting so long to see? He IS NOT PEETA to me. It doesn't matter that he'll be made-over, no amount of makeup can change him and make him look like the Peeta from my mind. He's a really good actor, to me anyway, but I do not see him as Peeta. And the other John isn't Gale either. How about they switched their roles up?

Terrible casting choices! For all the gods, who were the casting directors? I'm flying to the States now and setting up a strike or something at the production company. You can't do this to us fans, please! Listen to us on this one! They are not the ones for the roles! Forget about making millions of dollars. Don't you want to make a film that'll last in time?

Take the Harry Potter films for example. Who knew Dan, Emma and Rupert before them? No one. And look at them now, the most important young actors of our generation, to my eyes. Why not hire unknown actors to bring to life our beloved Peeta and Gale? Maybe they could do a better job than these two.

Being a Film student, I understand the beauty of telling stories through audiovisual arts. And this is just wrong. I don't mean to offend these actors, but seriously, the production's got it way, waaaaaaaaay wrong.

You can see that all they care about it making a commercial film, and as many millions as they can.

I'm torn between going and not going to see the film. But I know, in the end, I'll cave, and end up going. At least Jennifer Lawrence looks a bit like Katniss with her hair dyed.

Beautiful Chaos, Book Three in the Caster Chronicles Series!!! And Dream Movie Casting!

Man, I can't believe I wasn't around for the big cover reveal! But I still needed this beauty on my blog. When I look at it I see Ravenwood Manor's gate, or some gate in the Manor, but who knows?

I'd first thought that the font colouring was brown-ish, but according to MTV's Hollywood Crush, the final, printed cover will be gold! Imagine that! Amazing! When I have money, I'll definitely have these shipped to me in Argentina, no matter the cost. I need to own these books! I've read nothing but eBooks for a looong while.

And the title! THE TITLE! Perfect. Because I'm sure that's what's in store for Lena and Ethan.

Beautiful Chaos hits stores October 18th, 2011!

Can't wait to read this. I wouldn't mind reading and ARC with a different cover. *ahem, KamiMargieLittleandBrown*

Read my reviews of Beautiful Creatures and Beautiful Darkness.

-----------------------------

On Next Movie, Kami and Margie talk about the film adaptation of the series and how excited they are about the project. (Aren't we all?)

The site has also put together a little Dream Cast of their own, which you can see in its entirety here. These below are my favourites.

Emily Browning as Lena

I can definitely see her as Lena, she looks like her and can go from sweet and innocent, to a dark creature beautifully. (And yes, that was a lame attempt from me to do a play on words with the titles.)

Steven R. McQueen as Ethan

Kami and Margie like him, and so do I.

He does great in The Vampire Diaries as Elena's baby brother, and he has the potential, I think, to be a lead actor. But he'd have to be perfect in the skin of Ethan. He's a character I love, and whoever plays him will be heavily criticised by me, and all of the BC fandom, I suppose.

Rashida Jones as Marian the Librarian

Thank you Next Movie for the suggestion!

Love her as Marian! She looks exactly like her!

Helena Bonham Carter as Sarafine

She was the first person that came to mind when reading the battle scene in BC, when Lena fights her. The role fits her like a glove. But, Next Movie suggested an alternative:

Famke Janssen

That image could very well be a part of the scene I mentioned earlier.

So I'm torn between these two.

Teresa Palmer as Ridley

Ever since watching I am Number Four, where she plays a wicked alien, I've had her in the back of my mind.

And when someone said she'd be a good Ridley, I agreed! I think she'd be perfect.

Next Movie made other suggestions:

Lucy Hale as Lena and Logan Lerman as Ethan, but I really cannot see them in those roles.

Kristen Bell as Ridley, and while I'm a huge Veronica Mars fan, I wouldn't like her as Ridley. She's what, 30?

Alfre Woodard as Amma. Nope, can't see her as Amma. Amma is older and plump-ier, and... no. Please cast someone else!

Jeremy Irons as Lena's Uncle Macon. Another big NO. Uncle Macon doesn't look like he's a hundred years old! Well, to me, anyway.

What do you think? What are your top choices?

The Hunger Games Movie Update and a discussion about the cast

So, most of you know that the final installment for THG trilogy is coming out in the US on Aug 24th, and in the UK on Aug 2nd.

Well, I was channel surfing this morning, and came across this movie with Emma Roberts, Wild Child. While I'm not a fan of the movie itself, I could really see a connection between the protagonists.

And I don't know about you, but I'm liking Alex Pettyfer as Peeta.

I'm not the only one who thinks this, though. I've seen people cast him for Peeta in a lot of other blogs too.

To me he's the perfect choice,.

I've also seen his co-star in Wild Child, Emma Roberts, casted as Katniss in some blogs.
Take a look at these:

*scraches head, thinking*

They look good and cute together, but I can't see Emma being the tough Katniss I have in my mind.

Thanks to Lauren, this is the Katniss I'd like to see:

Camilla Belle, people.

She has that look about her that makes her great for the role.
But she's old. She's, like, 24. Still, she doesn't look she's 24. She could very well play Katniss and say, "Hi, dude, I'm 17. Ish"

"I spoke to two producers from Lionsgate who are making the “Hunger Games” movie. They said Suzanne had given them her draft of the script, which is now being revised by another screenwriter. They hope to be able to announce a director this summer, and go into production in January to release the film later in 2011."

:D

Can you say YAY!?
Dude, this means we'll have a Hunger Games movie next year!!!

I'm really happy that Suzanne's in charge of the script, because, who better than the actual author for the job?

I just really hope they don't get Catherine Hardwick to direct it.

Catherine, man, I love Twilight, but you wrecked it.
Sorry, but no love for you.

Who would you like to see as Peeta and Katniss?
And what about Gale? I didn't bother to look for a pic for him because I seriously have no idea who would be good for the part. But I'd like to hear you thoughts!

Tomorrow, When The War Began Movie Trailer

On Feb 7th, I reviewed Marsden's book Tomorrow, When The War Began, the first in the Tomorrow Series.

I started reading it after having read amazing reviews and learning that there was a movie in the making. I hate watching a movie without having read the book first.

While I didn't love the book like I thought, and hoped, I would, I still liked it and was very excited about the idea of having the opportunity of seeing the movie soon.

Thanks to Holly I found that we now have a movie trailer, and it is so amazing I can't wait to pick up Book number 2. I have sooo much to read and review! Keeping a book blog is kinda like a part time job.

Anyway, here's the awesome trailer, take a look:

Have you read Tomorrow, When The War Began? If so, tell me! Let's discuss!

I was kinda worried about Phoebe Tonkin playing Fi, but it looks like they've dyed her hair to match the character.

Tomorrow, When The War Began the Movie in cinemas in NZ and AU, September 2nd, 2010.
And let's hope everywhere else soon after!

Movie Trailers - Movies Blog

I'm really hoping NM will be better than Twilight.
Cause Twilight kind of is my favourite book in the saga.
But the film is not.
(but I'm not going there today)

This trailer gives me hope!
Look at those eyes!
That paler skin.
It's amazing, better than I had imagined.
And I like the change in the colour,
let me explain:
Twilight was kind of blue-ish, NM is orange-ish.
Get my point?

And Jane is my Favourite Volturi, so to have Dakota Fanning play her is
WOW!

What are your thoughts?

I'm in love with...

...this film!
I just finished watching it, and it is now my favourite film of this year (so far).
I liked it even more than HP & the Half Blood Prince (yep, I said HP)
It's funny, and cute, and gross sometimes too... LOL
Now I wanna read the book!
Kat Dennings and Michael Cera make a beautiful couple,
I'd like to read the book to compare film-Nick and Norah to book-Nick and Norah.

Have you seen this film, or read the book?

Anyway, it had been a while since I last saw a film that made me feel like this (not sure how I'm feeling, a mixture of warm and fuzzy, and wanting to kill those mean characters -Tris and Tal find something better to do!-).

Congrats Kat and Michael!
You've made this a film I won't soon forget.

Do you have a film that makes you want to punch those mean characters who get in the way with our main and lovely characters? Cause I really wanted to punch Tris some times (and even Nick for falling into her traps).

I'm downloading the soundtrack right now!

The World's Gone Tupsy-Turvy

I just read that Miley Cyrus is going to be starring the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' The Last Song.
Really? I mean, no offence Miley, but I think I like you better when you're singing, off the screen (off of any kind of screen). Well maybe not...
She's also going to be starring Aprilynne Pike's Wings' film adaptation.

I bet she's a sweet girl, but I sincerely do not like her acting.
Sorry Miley, this is just a thought.

begging that these films turn out to be ok,
